Grown at 2,050 to 2,100 meters, this Grade 1 heirloom variety showcases the power of terroir: rich volcanic soil, cool mountain air, and traditional natural processing that bring out the best in every bean.

This lot is naturally processed and dried on raised beds over 16–17 days, after a 36–48 hour fermentation period. The result is a radiant cup profile that’s clean, juicy, and vibrantly aromatic.

Durame Village lies in one of Ethiopia’s highest coffee-producing zones, where heirloom coffee trees thrive in naturally fertile soil. Here, smallholder farmers handpick ripe cherries and bring them to local wet mills, where fermentation and sun-drying are handled with careful precision. The natural (unwashed) process imparts deep sweetness and fruit character, while raised-bed drying ensures airflow and consistency across every batch.

The unique microclimate of Kembata—cool nights, warm days, and steady mountain mist—slows cherry maturation, developing dense, flavor-rich beans that embody Ethiopia’s legendary coffee heritage.
